Writing A Narrative

This week for Writing my class had to write a narrative about the three little pigs and the big bad wolf.

The three little pigs Its was a very dark and stormy morning, in England. There were three little pigs named Jace, Jacob, Joshua. That one morning the three little pigs had been awoken from the thunder. They all ran into the dining room with a big fright on their faces. In their pyjamas, freezing from top to bottom listening to the thunder get worse each time. ‘ Clink’ the three little pigs turned around, slowly looked around the corner of the dining room with a lot of fear. “ What do you think that was” Jacob asked. Jace and Joshua had no reply, they were too shocked to even think of an answer to Jacobs question. Jacob, slowly walked to the kitchen and grabbed anything he could find that was sharp. Jace and Joshua stayed together following behind Jacob. The three little pigs went hunting around the house to see what had made the noise. Jace and Joshua sweating from the palm of their hands, they kept on following Jacob. ‘Creeeeeeeek’ the bathroom door slowly opened. Jace and Joshua ran downstairs, waiting at the bottom of the staircase. Jacob opened the door and looked around, nothing to be seen on site neither was their any body hiding in their. Jacob was not easily convinced that their was no one in his house. He walked in further to see if anyone was behind the door, “no one?” Jace fearfully asked. As Jacob moves more into the bathroom, he feels a drip on the back of his neck. His looked up, and in a blink of an eye the BIG BAD WOLF was on his back screaming. Jace and Joshua had a brilliant idea. Jace ran up the stairs and locked the door. Jacob screamed “Hey, what are you doing, you just locked me in here with this maniac” Jace replied “ Don’t worry I have a plan” Jace and Joshua quickly ran downstairs, Jace grabbed the phone while Joshua just looked and wondered what are you doing? Jace dialed 999 on the phone. The emergency operator answered, “999 what’s your emergency” Jace’s replied in fear “OH MY GOD HELP, there's an intruder in my house, who locked himself in the bathroom trying to kill my brother” The operator asked “Is the intruder in the bathroom with your brother?” Jace responded with “Yes ma’am.” Three police cars rapidly came around the corner of the three little pigs street. The big bad wolf, starred out of the bathroom window trying to escape. Jacob held him back and shut the window very furiously. Jacob screamed help from the top of his lungs, so the three little pigs didn’t get the blame for anything bad that the big bad wolf had committed. The police headed up the stairs as quickly as they could, while the big bad wolf didn’t know what to do. The police forced the bathroom door open, as the wolf was still on Jacobs back. The police grabbed the big bad wolf off of Jacobs back to take him to jail. Reporters and neighbours were outside seeking what had happened. One police van came to pick the big bad wolf up and take him straight to court where he could be sentenced to how many years or months he deserved. Jacob, Jace and Joshua ran towards each other feeling relieved. “ Well done Jace, you have done a good job,'' Jacob said. And the three little pigs weren’t harassed by the wolf at all……….. well for now.

WALT: Scoring our own Writing Samples

This week we've been marking our last writing sample on our own. We've been marking our ideas, vocabulary, organisation, punctuation, sentence structure and structure and language. After marking every single one of those we figure out our total of them all together and find if we're at the expected level we're suppose to be at or if we need to keep working harder to get to the expected level we need to be at.

WALT: Create a positive digital learning footprint.

Today room one, had Whaea Deborah come in and teach us about digital learning footprint. We learnt about how when you share a certain picture, or comment to others it could be shared over the whole entire world. Although you could delete it as many times as you would like people could have easily saved or copied and shared all over. I learnt to definitely share certain things with people I trust and not to share personal information. We were given a activity where we high light the information that could be shared online and others that couldn't.

Nga Manu Korero

Manu Korero

The day has come, Manu Korero in the far north has arrived. 5.06.19,
Tautoro school and other local schools around Kaikohe head off to Northland college,
To go to the Manu Korero. Everyone gets into class as Whaea Mary aching in excitement,
the kids all roaring with conversations with their pairs and some getting ready for their
first Manu Korero. “The bus is here”, Matt yelled, as Whaea Mary was organising everyone
in their places in the lines, so that everyone was sitting all together.
Room 1 hopped into the bus everyone sitting and waiting patiently for the bus driver to
head off. The doors shut on the bus and slowly left Tautoro school.
We all arrived at Northland college with, kids running everywhere and parents right
behind them. We all walked over to the hall as everyone gets out of the bus where the
Manu Korero was taking place. We stood at the entrance into the hall where the
Manu Korero was taking place and was asked to go wait in the room beside the hall,
because the people doing their speeches weren’t allowed to be interrupted.
We waited patiently for one of the speeches to finish so when we go inside no speeches
were badly interrupted. We walk in and over a hundred seats were placed around the
whole hall. We sat in the second row closets to the stage so we could get the best view.
A boy from Rawhitiroa school walks slowly onto the stage, with a dumbbell.
Ngaro and I straight away looked at each other wondering what this boy was going to say.
He looks down at the dumbbell in his hand and said ‘ This is a dumbbell,
it gives you mountains on your arms but not as big as mine’.
Everyone laughed, as I looked at Ngaro and loudly said ‘ at least one of them has a sense
of humour’. Everyone that had a speech at the Manu Korero were given a random object
and had to make a speech up on the spot to talk about. Me and Whaea Mary straight away
knew he didn’t know what he was doing. Gazillion more speeches went on and the day had
gotten more boring as more speeches went on the more bored I got,
I couldn’t wait to leave. It was Morning tea time and everyone went out to get food.
It was a very stormy day so there were tents with tables under them where everyone
could eat.
